23rd Festival Season Promises ¡PASION!
Music in the Mountains puts all the expression and intensity of ¡Pasión! into this Festival season featuring orchestra, chamber music and conservatory performances of classical and world music. Gregory Hustis, Guillermo Figueroa and Arkady Fomin assemble renowned musicians to perform in spectacular venues in Durango and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. July 10—August 2, 2009.
Music in the Mountains Goes to School

More than 5,000 elementary, middle and high school students from Durango as well as nearby Colorado communities take part in the Music in the Mountains Goes to School program. This year-round program exposes students to world class musicians through concerts, workshops and class instruction. Scholarships to assist with private lessons and other musical education opportunities are available to students through an application process. Read more >>
Festival Announces Season Program
If audiences were enthusiastic about what they heard last summer, when Music in the Mountains turned over its artistic leadership to Gregory Hustis and Guillermo Figueroa, they can expect to be ecstatic about the eclectic mix of programs planned for the Festival’s 23rd season. “There’s no question we’ve developed an approach that satisfies a multitude of musical tastes,” says Festival Artistic Director Gregory Hustis. “Our concertgoers have told us they enjoy a blend of traditional works along with newer pieces they may not have heard before.”
Guest Artists Perform Benefit Concerts
Enjoy Music in the Mountains' guest artists Sir Angel Romero, Carl Topilow, Vadim Gluzman and David Korevaar as they perform at selected events benefiting the Festival and its' year round programming.
