Concerto Competition

Held at the beginning of the Conservatory, the Concerto Competition is a competitive performance in front of a live audience for a chance to win a number of prizes; the top being the prestigious honor of performing with the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra.  Students are required to fill out a separate application and provide a recording of themselves playing a selection of the repertoire list.  Students that are selected perform in the Concerto Competition held in Roshong Recital Hall, at Fort Lewis College.

FIRST PRIZE: Winner receives $750.00 and a performance with the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra, conductor Guillermo Figueroa.

SECOND PRIZE: Winner receives $500.00

DIRECTOR AWARD: Winner receives $250.00

AUDIENCE FAVORITE: Winner receives $150.00

ENTRY: $35.00 fee - Only registered participants of the Music in the Mountains Conservatory are able to enter the Concerto Competition.  Participants must prepare one movement of a concerto or virtuoso piece from the suggested repertoire list.  Other works may be considered, but must be approved.  Winners will be announced at the end of the competition.

TO APPLY:
Students who wish to apply for the Concerto Competition will have the option to express their interest on the online application.
Once students are accepted into the Music in the Mountains Conservatory, their acceptance email will feature information about how to apply for the Concerto Competition.
