Quint Nominated for Grammy Award

The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on January 31 and Music in the Mountains is pleased to announce that our own preeminent violinist Philippe Quint is one of this year's nominees.

Quint is one of the leading violinists of his generation. His recording of Schumann's Violin Concerto was previously nominated for two Grammy awards, and several of his recordings, including Corigliano's Red Violin and Bernstein's Serenade, have also been named Editor's Choice by The Gramophone.

This year, Philippe Quint was nominated as Best Instrumental Soloist in Performance with an Orchestra for his recording of Korngold's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, including Overture to a Drama, Op. 4, and Much Ado About Nothing-Concert Suite, Op. 11. Philippe performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Mineria, conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto.

Congratulations, Philippe! We are honored to have you perform over the years at our summer classical music festival.
